Community Guidelines

Version 2026-10-11

The short version

Write about your own life: what you felt, what you did, what you never said. Do not write about other people in a way that could identify, shame or hurt them. Every post is read by a moderator before it appears.

No NSFW. No bullying. No names or personal details. No threats.

Not allowed

  • Sexual or NSFW content. No pornography, explicit sexual descriptions, nude images, sexual solicitation or “DM me” requests. You can mention relationships and feelings; you cannot be graphic.
  • Anything sexual involving minors. Never, in any form. It is removed immediately and escalated to the appropriate authorities.
  • Bullying and harassment. No mocking, shaming or ganging up on anyone, including teachers and staff.
  • Doxxing and personal information. No names, phone numbers, emails, addresses, ID or roll numbers, social media handles, class sections, photos, or details that let people work out who someone is.
  • Malicious rumours and accusations about identifiable private people. If something serious happened, report it to the people who can act on it.
  • Threats and violence. No threats against anyone, and no content that encourages violence.
  • Insulting religion. No content that insults, mocks or disrespects any religion, sect, holy book, prophet or religious figure, and no accusing anyone of blasphemy. In Pakistan this is a serious crime. You can still write respectfully about your own faith, doubts or experiences; these posts are checked with extra care before they appear.
  • Hate. No attacks on people for their religion, ethnicity, caste, nationality, gender, sexuality, disability or similar characteristics.
  • Someone else’s Instagram. The optional Instagram field is for your own account only. Adding another person’s handle is treated as targeting them.
  • Impersonation. Do not pretend to be another person, a teacher, an institution or confession.baby staff.
  • Exposing authors. Do not try to identify who wrote a confession, and do not ask others to.
  • Nonconsensual intimate content of any kind.
  • Spam and scams. No ads, links farms, crypto schemes, or repeated posts.

Schools and minors

Posting on confession.baby is for adults aged 18 and over. School communities can be found so that former students and adults connected to a school can write about it, but:

  • every post in a school community is reviewed with extra care before it appears;
  • nobody at a school may be named, described or identified, including students, teachers and staff;
  • comments and replies are turned off in school communities;
  • school community posts are not shown to search engines and have no social share previews.

If you are under 18, please do not post. If you see something that puts a child at risk, use Report abuse.

Comments

Comments are reviewed before they appear, and edits go back through review. Be kind to the person who wrote the confession. Do not guess who they are. There is no private messaging on confession.baby.

Communities and handles

Request communities only for real educational institutions, using their real name. Handles that impersonate, insult or squat on an institution are refused. Requesting a community does not make you its owner; claims are verified by moderators.

Reporting

Use the Report button on any confession, comment or community, or the Report abuse form. Reports about threats, child safety and personal information are reviewed first. Reports do not remove anything automatically: a person always decides, so the system cannot be used to silence posts that follow the rules.

What happens when rules are broken

Submissions that break these guidelines are not published, or are removed if already public. Clear-cut cases, such as explicit sexual content or contact details, are refused when you submit. Repeated abuse can lead to rate limits on the device or network it comes from. Credible threats and child safety concerns may be escalated to the appropriate authorities as described in our Privacy Policy.

If you are struggling

If you are writing about wanting to hurt yourself, please also talk to someone who can help right now: a trusted person, a doctor, or a local crisis line. In an emergency, contact local emergency services. Moderators may hold posts about self-harm while they check them.
